Which countries have you lived in?

Notapor Xdlo el 06 Jul 2010, 19:11

Hi people.

Let's post about the countries we have lived in during our lives. It's ok if you mention a country in which you have just spent a week, some days... etc, it's just to talk about differences, which places did you like most, and so on.

I start with Finland, Ireland and Germany, 2 weeks, 2 months and 3 months each, in Turku, Dublin and Freiburg.

At the moment, my very favourite is Dublin, but both Finland and Germany had interesting stuff to do and people there have nice lifestyles, IMO. I don't know the exact reason, but Dublin is quite nice to me.

I've been living abroad since I was a teenager so English is not my problem. I spent 3 years in London.
I have something clear on my mind, languages are so important for all kind of jobs!!! So after reading that news about new job opportunities in Germany i decided to refresh my german knowledge again, which I learnt when I was living in Berlin for 6 months thanks to Leonardo Da Vincin's internship.

At my class, my schoolmates don't know to speak in English, so that's a very big problem for them, because nowadays, the companies need people who have a high English level (or they would like to, at least).

Regards

I envy you. I know 3 languages and I find it very difficult, and even more when there is lack of practice. When more time passed without speaking English, worse I do. I would love to master English, German, Finnish .. I really love the language but are not mine :P

Would you mind me to correct you something? when you want to say cuanto más...menos... in English we say "the more....the less..." and not when more time ....worse... And you have more mistakes but I wouldn't be too know-it-all, just wanted to help you. It is always welcome when someone can correct my mistakes as well.

+1, I want to live a season in UK and/or Canadá ...
The next year I will ask to go on erasmus to UK, if not Ireland.

Without more.

My aim, after getting some experience here in Spain, is moving abroad, maybe to UK or Ireland.

It is the best time to go. Later, when you finish your studies and find a job, you can't go out for a season :(
